Busy, busy.....

on Hadrian's Wall

Can't believe how April and the start of May have whizzed by - we've done an early music educational day for kids at Dean Castle,Kilmarnock, visited our favourite bit of Hadrian's Wall, a reunion gig for R's blues band in Leicestershire, a letter-cutting/writing retreat at Taliesin Community Woodland, a book launch in Stonehaven and two, no three, in Dumfries and Sanquhar, a fledgling writing group thriving here in lovely Powfoot.....R is trying to catch up with viols work and I'm chasing several writing tails. Lovely in the middle of it all to have Louis and Jeanie visit and share meals and wine. Southlight 8 was launched at a shared reading withThe Eildon Tree from the Borders - a great event.

Writing Ground, the latest collaboration with Jean, Jackie, Fiona and me, has a pretty little chapbook with six new poems from each of us and B&W photographs - you can have one for £5 including p&p - e-mail vivien@freeola.com

Stonehaven was wonderful - reminded me of Devon and Cornwall - real sea, real cliffs - even if some of them are collapsing into the sea. The occasion was the launch of Pushing Out The Boat 10 - in which both Jean and I have work - and it was a large and jolly gathering. We stayed in a B&B right on the shore with the sound of the waves sending us to sleep.

May I recommend the chapbook to all?
